Lebanon Drone Strike Kills Israeli Soldier
(MENAFN) A drone packed with explosives, launched from Lebanese territory, struck northern Israel on Saturday, killing one soldier and wounding two others, the Israeli army confirmed.
The military identified the fallen soldier as Noam Hamburger, 23. An Israeli public broadcaster reported he died at the moment of detonation.
The attack brings to 22 the total number of Israeli troops killed in southern Lebanon since February 28, according to official Israeli army figures. Three of those fatalities, including Hamburger's, occurred within the past week alone, underscoring a sharp and deadly escalation along the volatile northern front.
