Lukashenko Extends Invitation to India’s Modi

(MENAFN) Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, expressing confidence that the Indian leader would receive a warm reception from the Belarusian public.

“We would be delighted to welcome Prime Minister Modi to Belarus. We are always ready to receive him and look forward to his visit,” Lukashenko stated while meeting with Indian Ambassador Ashok Kumar, as reported by the presidential press service.

The Belarusian president highlighted that he has cultivated a “very warm and cordial relationship” with Modi and noted that they frequently communicate on global platforms.

He specifically referenced their recent interaction at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meetings held in China.

Lukashenko also reaffirmed Belarus’ willingness to support India during its upcoming 2026 BRICS chairmanship.

“We are ready to work with you under your BRICS chairmanship and to do everything necessary to ensure its success,” he said, expressing gratitude to New Delhi for endorsing Minsk’s involvement in both the SCO and BRICS initiatives.
